the next I Knit Show

the SnB day was amazing so we're doing it all (and more) again.

This time it's going to be in August. The Saturday of the August Bank Holiday weekend is an option but I don't know if it's the best option.

As the show is for you I thought I would ask for your adice.

Is the Saturday of the August Bank Holiday weekend a good day for the show?

Please let a comment to let me know what you think.

I guess it would depend on how many of the attendees would be around. High summer, especially with a bank holiday thrown in, is usually a good time to be going abroad with the family and all that.

And if August is going to be hotter than it was last year then the venue should have good air ciculation and be reasonably confortable for maximum staying power. :)

I have no idea what I'll be doing that weekend, but I'm liekely to go away and I think quite a lot of people leave London on bank holiday weekends - also that is prime holiday season...

Gerard,

Glas to hear you're already planning the next S&B day, but I'm afraid I don't think the August Bank Holiday Saturday is a good time to have it. Many people go away for the weekend, or have other plans. It will also clash with the Notting Hill Carnival. But that's just my humble opinion. I think September would be good.

Hurrah! I was out of the country for the last one.. I would definitely vote no to the bank holiday for reasons already specified and would therefore vote yes for a September date..

not everyonein London and beyond goes away for bank holiday or to the notting hill carnival becuase it is a chaotic weekend., myself includd. I think this weekened would be fine and most people i know tah go on hol would b back by then in prep fo going back to work. Also its near to pay day so people will have £ to spend.

I'd ere on the side of not using the BH... too many people go away, as it is an easy way to get an extra Holiday day for free, and there is also the "Let's get the kids stuff for going back to school" frenzy that weekend as well. I'd go for 6th Sept myself, as al will have calmed down then.

What ever you decide in the end though, put Fluffenstuff down for a stall!

Firstly - thank you for doing the first i knit show.

I had a wonderful time, and it was the perfect place to launch Oxford Kitchen Yarns.

I definately interesting in coming again, this year, if i can.

however, i agree with the other comments - august is too busy, and summery a month for a show. i would have said september would be better, given that most people, by that point, have had their summer holiday, and have switched over into autumn mode.

hope that helps.

And again - huge thanks for all your hard work!

No, not then, if possible. Too much Notting Hill Carnival craziness going on, and I never feel all that inspired to knit in the summer. The stalls will get more money out of me if it's later in the year!
